Outreach News: New publications for our Prader-Willi syndrome community
January 26, 2021
Latham Centers’ “Living Healthy with PWS” newsletter and “PWS Mindset” booklet were recently shared with colleagues and friends throughout the Prader-Willi syndrome community. Our Admissions and Outreach Team published these helpful and uplifting resources, including:
· the 13th “Living Healthy with PWS” quarterly newsletter, and
· a new booklet, “Understanding the PWS Mindset and Development of Coping Skills”
The Living Healthy with PWS newsletter is for Latham families, friends, staff, and volunteers – as well as anyone who has someone in their life with Prader-Willi. The End-of-Fall issue (Volume 13) newsletter features:
-
an announcement about students’ work being highlighted in the “PWS Mindset” publication,
-
highlights of students’ 2020 election,
-
a student interview from Latham’s PWS University Podcast,
-
“Season of Thanks” articles, and
-
Latham Centers’ 2020 Staff Awards
The PWS Mindset Booklet covers the following topics, with each chapter highlighting a student author:
· Understanding the PWS Mindset
· What Works
· Coping Skills
· Understanding PWS Behaviors
We’re so grateful to our Children’s and Adult Services staff for helping to inform, educate, and inspire. Sharing our Program highlights has been helpful to so many others in the special needs community!
