Latham: A Documentary
Directed by Geoffrey Basset and produced by Kim Roderiques
Latham is an intimate portrait of Latham Centers, a nationally recognized leader in specialized education and therapeutic care for children and adults with disabilities. Set in Brewster on Cape Cod, the organization is home to the world’s largest children’s program serving individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 1 in 18,000 births.
Through deeply personal perspectives from students, adults, families, and staff, the film reveals a community shaped by resilience. It captures the quiet strength found in routine, the bonds formed through consistency, and the deep commitment required each day.
Featuring insight from Dr. Patrice Carroll, LICSW, DSW, Director of PWS Services at Latham Centers, it explores both the challenges and triumphs experienced by those connected to Latham Centers. Latham invites audiences to witness the power of belonging and reveals what it means to be fully seen and understood.
