Tip of the Week: Transition to adulthood

Transitions can be especially difficult for a child with PWS or other special needs.  Today, as one of our Latham students graduated and continues his transition to our Adult Program, we focused on everything positive. The best thing we can all do in these times of transition is to reinforce the progress that has been made, acknowledge the achievement of goals, and celebrate the opportunities and promise of the days ahead. Today (as you’ll see in this video clip), I reminded our graduate “You’re leaving here stronger, smarter, calmer, and in control of your life. Good luck, you’ve worked hard, and you deserve this.”

In an upcoming blog, we’ll share more memorable moments from today’s graduation.
