TIP of the WEEK: The Benefits of Music

Latham-Centers3

Listening to music has been proven to benefit overall health and improve quality of life. Some of the benefits are:
Lessening chronic pain
Decreasing depression
Improving lung and brain function
Improving communication skills
Aiding in organizing thoughts and staying focused
Many of us have very busy lives and finding time to incorporate anything new can seem overwhelming. Adding more music into your life is as simple as putting it on during activities that you are already doing. Play calming music during transitional times, showering or bathing, and nighttime routines. Play upbeat music in the morning or during times that your child needs an extra boost in mood or energy.
Adding music into your daily life may have a positive impact with little effort on your part. And who doesn’t need a little of that!
