Tip of the week: Staying Involved – Prader-Willi Syndrome: A Bright Future conference invitation

As caregivers of someone with PWS, it is important to stay involved in our community. One parent who spoke about his son’s successful transition to Latham Centers told us, “My son and I became more involved in…attend[ing] conferences. Here, not only did I learn, but my son did as well. He learned that there were others like him. I met other parents and professionals in the field. I began to learn how to better communicate with my son, and how others should try to communicate with him. I became an educator to those working with my son at public school.”

We’d like to invite you to connect with others in our PWS community at the Second Annual Conference, Prader-Willi Syndrome: A Bright Future, to be held in Connecticut on June 1st. This is Latham Centers’ first time participating in this conference and Mac Pact’s second. This conference will provide an opportunity for PWS families, specialists, and providers to meet, network, learn and share information and knowledge.

Discussion topics will include:

  • the educational setting,

  • behavior management,

  • medications and trials,

  • aspects of adult programming, and more.

Participants will have the option to attend lectures and panels and meet medical professionals. I will be speaking at the conference, as well as Jennifer Miller, MD, Elizabeth Roof, M.A., and others. More information about our additional speakers will follow in upcoming blog posts as we near the conference date.  Below are the conference details and registration link:
