TIP of the WEEK: Staying Fit

Latham-Centers

Staying fit is important for everyone but especially so for the person with PWS. Staying fit helps to boost metabolism,  increases mood and emotional stability, helps fight off osteoporosis by keeping bones strong, and improves overall quality of life. People with PWS have a very difficult time losing weight once they gain so daily exercise is vital for physical health. Work in some type of physical exercise every day and you will see long lasting benefits.
Latham Centers is embarking in its Falmouth Road Race Challenge this week! Seventeen runners on Team Latham are participating in Falmouth’s 7.2 mile course to raise funds for the students and adults at Latham Centers. Specifically, these funds will contribute to the fitness and athletic spaces and programs for the children and adults who call Latham Centers home. About 50% of these individuals have Prader-Willi Syndrome. Please support our runners and our mission by making a donation HERE.
