Tip of the Week: Staying Connected
September 4, 2020
For families with a child with PWS, staying connected is more important now than ever. Reach out to your local organizations and schools to find out about virtual after school activities. Latham Centers offers a free online Story Time twice per week for students under 22, and a monthly adult Social Hour. Several agencies like PWSAUSA and FPWR are also offering parent virtual groups. Keeping you and your kids connected and engaged can help prevent feelings of loneliness and isolation during this challenging time.
Patrice Carroll, Latham Centers’ Director of PWS Services, is world-renowned for her Prader-Willi syndrome expertise. She works with Latham students and residents, their families, and other experts, continuously learning and teaching about PWS best practices. If you have PWS-related questions, we invite you to email TipTopics@LathamCenters.org.
