TIP of the WEEK: PWS Awareness Month

pws
To those of us in the PWS community spreading awareness happens everyday. At each doctors appointment, IEP, sometimes even a trip to the store ends up spreading more awareness than we care to spread! But for one month each year we get to unabashedly talk about the syndrome that we love to everyone and anyone that will listen. Here are some ways to enjoy the month of May, our favorite month of the year.
Go for a walk. Join the many, many benefit walks taking place around the country. If so inclined start your own walk.
Donate. Cash, cars, your time… Every bit counts and helps those fighting to make lives better for people with PWS and their families.
Give a talk. Ask your local library or senior center to rent you a room in their facility and invite your community to learn about PWS.
Reach out. If you’ve been on the PWS journey for a while, reach out to those who are new and offer your help.
Whatever you decide to do be sure to share your ideas and know how much your efforts are helping the children and adults with PWS.
