The Latham School Store is open for students – with fantastic donated items!

Director of Education Meghan Foley and her talented staff have created a new Latham School Store where students can spend their hard-earned “Scholar Dollars.” Students earn Scholar Dollars by participating in their classes and engaging in extracurricular activities. The store has an exciting new location on campus, and it’s filled with a wonderful inventory of games, puzzles, backpacks, plush toys, arts and craft supplies, books, and posters.

Meghan shared some background on the excitement surrounding the store:

“Our students and teachers have done an incredible job of adjusting to the necessary changes we have made on campus due to the pandemic. We have had to rearrange our campus to accommodate social distancing, and there have been changes to our family visitation policies to keep everyone safe and healthy. Our parent community has been so supportive and generous. So many families wanted to know how they could help, and in response we created an Amazon Wishlist where Latham teachers, residential staff, and clinicians could post the items that kids most wanted to have available on campus and in the school store. We have received everything from sporting equipment and an outdoor movie screen and projector to items for our Multi-Sensory Spaces on campus, and fun trinkets for the school store. The generosity of our family community has meant so much to us and has brought so much joy to our students.”

All of us at Latham wish to thank the Latham families and community members who have contributed to the success of our School Store with donations of merchandise. The staff and students will continue to update the list throughout the school year so be sure to check it out by following this link

Gifts of any size are meaningful and welcome. In-kind Amazon Wishlist donations are tax- deductible and all donors receive a formal acknowledgment from our Development Department for tax purposes.

(Students’ participation in selecting the Wishlist items for the School Store was highlighted in our September 2nd blog )
