Team Latham raises nearly $13,000 running the Falmouth Road Race

The 45th running of the Falmouth Road Race last Sunday was awe-inspiring.  In the early-morning hours of August 20th, Latham’s team members joined 12,800 runners making their way to Woods Hole – some by bicycle, some by bus, some by foot – navigating road closures and growing crowds to the start of the 7-mile seaside course.  The weather was gorgeous (though hot for running), and the mood was uplifting. More than 2,000 volunteers lined the course, and at 8:45 a.m., a massive American flag was hoisted above the early-bird finish line crowd.

Children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents eagerly awaited the finish of their loved ones, and for many of us, the finish of our friends and colleagues running to raise money for a cause.

It was a thrill to see our smiling Latham team members complete this challenging run; they spent months training and fundraising, ran seven miles in the 80-degree Cape Cod heat, and were radiant at the finish-line gathering spot.  Team leader Katrina Fryklund said, “I am so proud of our runners. Together, our 11 runners have raised nearly $13,000 for Latham residents and their physical fitness initiatives.  Each and every runner deserves a huge congratulations and THANK YOU!”

Team Latham 2017 includes Steve Bebrin, Katrina Fryklund, Gina Sheehan, Anne Haglof, Gerry Pouliot, Ashley Pouliot, Kalyn Mika, Roger Good, Melissa Hyer, Fran Johnson, and Alexandra Craig.  Sincere thanks to our donors – it’s not too late to sponsor team members:  https://lathamcenters.donorpages.com/FRR2017/stats/  … and it’s not too early to think about running with Team Latham in 2018!
