Staff Spotlight: Cheyenne Robles joins HR Recruitment Team

The newest member of our Organizational Development Department, Cheyenne Robles, said her job as Assistant Recruiter is very rewarding.  Since joining Latham Centers four months ago, Cheyenne has met with many job candidates excited to learn more about Latham’s mission and the work that we do.

“Every one of them is interested in finding out how they can bring their skills to Latham to be a positive influence in the lives of the children and adults we serve,” she said. “The common thread is the rewarding aspect of our field.  Making a difference – helping others – is what draws people to apply to work at Latham Centers,” Cheyenne observed.  It’s also one of the reasons she came to Latham after working in the retail industry.

Cheyenne’s background was a perfect match for Latham, according to Talent Acquisition Manager Betty Gray. “Her experience is in customer service, management, interviewing, and training. She has seamlessly joined the HR/Organizational Development team,” Betty said. “Her positive energy and kindness are appreciated by all who meet her.”

Cheyenne appreciates Latham’s workplace culture. “I’m so grateful for the support and availability of those around me – and even in leadership roles,” she commented. “Everyone is approachable and available and helpful, no matter what their role is.”  In her experience, everyone at Latham has the same goal of “helping” – not only the individuals we serve and their families, but also our colleagues.  “Even though I’m not directly supporting the children and adults at Latham, my skillset serves the bigger purpose, and it is so rewarding to have even a small part in achieving a mission that has such great impact.”  Cheyenne added that it’s such a different culture here than in other industries. “To me, there is so much value in being able to proudly represent the place you work for.”

Latham’s new-staff onboarding process also impressed her. “Latham Centers makes sure that through our paid orientation and training, we provide staff with all the tools they need for their role, even if they don’t come from a background in human services or direct care.” Cheyenne said the professional development here is excellent, and our Employee Training and Development Team members are available to all staff as coaches and mentors; not just during Orientation.

Cheyenne will join Betty and other members of Latham Centers’ team at our Job Fair on Monday, where they will welcome anyone interested in career opportunities at Latham. The Job Fair will be held on January 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at our future campus expansion site at 1439 Main Street (Route 6A), Brewster.

More about our current openings: Latham Centers’ Job Fair is the perfect opportunity to meet informally with our Human Resources and Program team members to learn about our special education and residential services for children and adults with disabilities. We’re hiring nursing and direct support professionals (including residential and one to one counselors, case manager/vocational counselors, and agency substitutes). Direct support positions include full-time, part-time, and flex-time options at the Latham School campus in Brewster and at several Adult Program group residences from Brewster to Plymouth.
