Staff Spotlight: Cara Losapio honored as Supervisor of the Quarter

Children’s Services Residential Supervisor Cara Losapio has been named Latham Centers’ Supervisor of the Quarter! Cara was recognized for consistently going above-and-beyond in her work at Latham, and several of her peers nominated her for the award. Here are just a few excerpts from the nominations submitted by colleagues in the Children’s Services Program, clearly illustrating Cara’s significant impact here at Latham Centers:

  • “Cara helps any and every shift at any and every opportunity she has. She has helped bridge the Educational, Residential, and Clinical teams with her effective communication and proactive approach.”

  • “Cara has been a non-stop promoter of my career. She goes out of her way to give me information to make me a better supervisor. She took a last-minute shift to cover me while I was gone… When I have a question, she automatically has the answer.  Cara is knowledgable, positive, enthusiastic, and her energy is infectious.”

  • “Cara knows the students well, is professional and thorough – with great follow-through! Cara is an excellent ambassador to the Latham parent community – thanks, Cara!”

  • “Cara has put together a schedule that ensures quality communication between staff, students, and parents. She has gone above and beyond in her position.”

  • “Cara has extensive knowledge of all of our kids that she is able to present to school districts, collaterals, and families, in such a clear and concise way. She keeps us all on task through great notes, paper trails, and her follow-ups.”

  • “Cara is calm and respectful, and she is there for students and staff. She strives for excellence, and she always wants what is best.”

Cara has also been a tremendous help with staff recruitment. Last fall, she appeared in a digital marketing campaign, sharing her thoughts with other career-changers interested in learning about Latham Centers. In one of those 15-second video clips (see below), she says, “As an attorney, I was limited in the ways I could help people.  Here at Latham, I get to help them as a whole person through every aspect of their lives. We really are a team who work together on a daily basis.”  (Thank you, Cara, for spending time with the videographer last fall for the video shoot pictured here!)

We are so thrilled to honor Cara – congratulations on this well-deserved award!

(Next week, we’ll feature the Adult Services Supervisor of the Quarter!)
