Spirit Week Field Day Video (Part 2): Latham’s own Superheroes

Congratulations to all of our Children’s Program staff, students, and parents on a hugely successful Latham Field Day! We hope that you’ve enjoyed viewing these recent videos as much as Director of National Outreach Katrina Fryklund has enjoyed creating them. Katrina said, “I’ve had the pleasure of spending more time on campus with our students recently, taking photos and highlighting some of the amazing goings-on at Latham Centers. It has truly been an honor to spend time on the floor with our vivacious, smiley, and fun-loving kiddos.”

Katrina is one of many longtime team members whose enthusiasm about Latham Centers is contagious. “I have worked at Latham Centers for over eight years, and I am so proud of the work we do,” Katrina said. “I love days like Field Day the most because they highlight the amazing progress of these students. The bounce house requires much skill and balance, especially for students diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome who struggle with their vestibular sense. This year, I saw students who were unable to get into the bounce house in the past climb in and say, ‘Take a picture Katrina, please?! I need to show my staff!’ I also saw students who were only able to get through the doors last time complete the entire obstacle course with huge smiles and looks of determination.”

It is awe-inspiring to observe our students having fun with peers, successfully increasing their skills, and participating in special events like Spirit Week.
