Solo bike ride from Maine to Cape Cod: Latham family member’s cycling fundraiser exceeds goal

Latham Centers is the fortunate beneficiary of a 220-mile cycling fundraiser organized and completed by Brendan Corliss, whose brother has been a resident at Latham since 1997. We announced his plans for the Strength Ride last month, and Brendan’s ride was a great success. His solo cycling journey began in Portland, Maine on Friday, October 13th, and although he got rained on for most of Saturday, he made it to his brother Justin’s Latham home safely on the evening of the 14th. Brendan selflessly created the Strength Ride, with 100% of donations going to Latham Centers. To date, his cycling event has raised more than $2,100.

We are honored that Brendan chose our organization as the beneficiary of his fundraising efforts. Brendan’s challenging ride and message of strength-in-togetherness is inspirational. Latham Centers’ President & CEO Anne McManus said Brendan’s efforts remind all of us at Latham about the power of one person to make an enormous impact on so many others. From our Board of Directors to our 250-plus staff members, we thank Brendan for raising awareness about our mission and supporting our vital programs.

Strength Ride donations are still being accepted through Brendan’s online donor page HERE.
