Ride your Bike to the Finish Line to Help Support our Residents: Latham Centers and the Last Gasp

Do you have a goal to ride your bike more this summer? Do you want to help the Latham Team raise funds to better support our residents? Latham invites you to bike in the Last Gasp, a Fundraiser from Sandwich to Provincetown in which all funds raised will help to build to new Community Center.
It’s a day filled with support, comradery, and fun, as volunteers from around Cape Cod come together to support the riders. Riders are asked to raise $500 leading up to the race and provide a $95 fee upon registering. While all $500 raised support OUR residents, the $95 fee covers water stops, support vehicles, lunch at the Harbor Hotel (Provincetown), a boat cruise back to Sandwich, the annual Clam Bake after the race, and a t-shirt! Last Year Latham Staffer and Last Gasp Rider, Mariel Chance, received third place overall in the women’s category. This year she is biking again and is excited to, “see how well she could do raising a bit of money for the students and adults with complex special needs at Latham Centers [for another year].” Other riders currently consist of riding couple Chris Gillstrom-Burgess and Mark Burgess. Both Chris and Mark were considered Big Wheels in 2016’s race – Chris was “Rookie of the Year,” while Mark participated in the 20th year as a Last Gasp Rider.
