Remembering Meredith Morgan, our controller and friend

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Meredith J. Morgan, a dear colleague who was a member of our Business Office team for the past 13 years. Meredith served as Latham Centers’ Staff Accountant and then Controller. Her passing is an immense loss for all of us.

Meredith worked tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of our students, residents, and the entire Latham Community. Her knowledge of state contracting and federal housing made her an invaluable source of guidance and information. Meredith created a team within the Finance Department that was close and effective. We will all remember her love of the Christmas holiday season and the way she brought joy to all of us by decorating the office and organizing the office pot-luck celebration. Meredith was known for her generosity and kindness, never missing the chance to sell the most 50/50 cash raffle tickets at the annual staff appreciation holiday party in support of gifts for Latham students. She always loved the interaction with students – “especially the singing.” Meredith created traditions, made us laugh, inspired camaraderie, and made us stronger as a team.

Meredith has left an indelible mark on Latham Centers with her kind heart, strong work ethic, and dedication to our mission. We will greatly miss our colleague and friend.

We are thinking of Meredith’s family and friends with sympathy during this time of grief and wishing them comfort in the memories.
