Last month, we were deeply saddened to learn that our dear colleague Joan McFadden passed away suddenly from a heart attack. We will remember Joan as a beautiful human being who was welcoming, kind, and thoughtful. Her love of family, theater, and her humility were the cornerstones of who she was. She was respected by her colleagues; she shared the gifts of patience, kindness, and good humor with all of us. Joan was always willing to help solve a problem, find an answer, or gently walk each of us through the maze of paperwork that comes with benefits. She put everyone at ease, helping anyone and everyone with a smile. Joan was part of the Latham family for 3½ years, and she was a joy to work with.
Latham Centers has suffered a huge loss. Joan’s passing will leave a hole in our community that will be hard to fill. May Joan rest in peace, having lived a good and caring life. She will be missed more than words can express.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11 am.
