Reflections: Latham Centers’ 2022 Year-End Celebration

Latham Centers’ Year-End Celebration last month was a huge success. The event, held outside at our Brewster campus again this year (thankfully), is the culmination of our traditional school year – before the SummerTide program begins. Director of National Outreach Katrina Kozak shared these event highlights:

“Featured speeches, awards, vocal performances, and even a dance routine made a long-lasting mark on all of us.

When the guests sat and reviewed the event program, it seemed like a traditional celebration. Little did they know that several Latham students were gearing up for a surprise dance performance led by Teacher Brogan Mulligan. Brogan has a dancing background and she did a beautiful job – congratulations, Latham Dancers, on your first successful performance!

After the dance, the Pledge of Allegiance, and National Anthem, outgoing Board Chair Christine Gillstrom spoke about the successes of the past year and the motivation of our students and staff. Anne McManus, President and CEO, noted how good it felt to be in a safe, outdoor event with our Latham community after years of virtual celebrations.

In another special moment, Sarah jane Mason, Music Therapist, invited students up to the stage for performances. This video captures some of the best moments!

Many Latham parents and guardians traveled from across the country to be a part of the celebration, and we are so grateful. We’d also like to thank Ocean Edge for providing delicious food for the occasion.”

Thank you, Katrina, for your reflections, for serving as master of ceremonies, and for creating this video.
