Principal’s Corner: Celebrating special days

There is always something to celebrate here at Latham! On a chilly day last month, we had a warm celebration of the 14th birthday of Matthew B. His whole class celebrated his special day. We watched one of his favorite movies, played Birthday Bingo, and played a Kahoot game that was all about the birthday boy himself. One of our students even helped to decorate Matthew’s desk with glitter, hand-made confetti, and a bow the night before – a wonderful surprise when Matthew walked into the classroom!
In the evening, Matthew celebrated with his suitemates, enjoying cupcakes from our talented kitchen crew.
“It was an awesome day!” exclaimed Matthew.
