Meet ShySpeaks, Headliner of our Juneteenth Staff Celebration

Latham Centers is proud to host ShySpeaks at our virtual Juneteenth Celebration!

Shy Amos, also known as ShySpeaks, is an American hip hop and spoken word artist. With her soulful voice, thoughtful lyrics, and irrepressible confidence, Shy is winning fans from San Francisco to the UK and nations in between. Her rhymes are brilliant, spiritual, and introspective; she’s on another level. Simply put, ShySpeaks is renaissance! As evident in her mission, “…to treat the words artist, advocate, and activist as one in the same”, the female lyricist is expanding her catalog of inspirational music and poetry to showcase a fresh, universal sound. Shy is a very proud native of Dallas, Texas.

It was there that she found her VOICE through oratorical contest, among her musically-inclined family, and like so many musical icons before her, in the church she grew up in. During her teen years, she discovered a gift for songwriting where she found creative freedom by adding melody to heartfelt poems.
