May 29th PWS Awareness Tip & Fact of the Day by Samuel
May 29, 2021
Theory of Mind is a developmental process where a child learns to empathize and see the world through other people’s eyes. People with PWS struggle with this, and often times we interpret this as not caring or being selfish. What we need to understand is that this behavior isn’t a choice, it has simply not been learned yet. Soft and frequent reminders of how others see the world can help to develop this skill. Today is the 29th day of PWS Awareness Month.

“Happy PWS Awareness Month. People with PWS are kind and caring. Get to know someone with PWS and you won’t regret it.”
