“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge” ~Albert Einstein
Last week, as declared by Gov. Charlie Baker and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward Markey, was Direct Service Professional Recognition Week in MA. Latham Centers’ staff are truly what make us the life-changing and sometimes life-saving organization for children and adults with special needs. Last week we posted a letter composed by Genevieve, an amazingly grateful student from Latham Campus. Hers is the ultimate thank you for your amazing work – you are at the center of all that we do.  This week we want to reach out, specifically, to our veteran and new teachers!
Our wonderful teachers took part in a two day professional development prior to the beginning of the school year. Our teachers were hard at work working on curriculum, setting up classrooms, and developing lesson plans, while the students enjoyed the final days of summer. This year our veteran teachers include, Jeff B., Meghan P., Jessica G., Monique W., Suzanne RT., Andrea B., and Amie G. All of our teachers bring enthusiasm, individuality, and compassion to their classrooms. Our staff is trained to provide strong academics with a therapeutic approach to each class they teach. The administration at the Latham School is honored, and privileged, to work with such a dedicated group of professionals.
We would also like to welcome Mike S, Katherina A, Emily L, and Megan F, to the teaching team this year! We cannot wait to see the creativity and expression you bring to your classrooms.

Assistant Principal
