Latham students celebrate Nauset Garden Club member Tina Williamson

The surprise presentation of flowers and a plaque to longtime volunteer Christina Williamson last month was a thrill like no other. Students and staff gathered outside on Christina’s last day with the Garden Ladies volunteer group to express their appreciation for her 11 years of service at our Latham School campus.

It was a beautiful tribute to a very special mentor who shared her talents and passion for gardening projects with our students. Laura Heilmann, Career Services Manager, said it was a delight for the students to be able to present Tina with a bouquet and engraved plaque. “Tina has always been so amazing with the students, and her projects were so creative and engaging.”

Latham Centers is fortunate to have the support from the Nauset Garden Club – they come to campus and work with students to create incredible floral arrangements every holiday (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day…) which are often then given to staff and parents.

Tina’s surprise retirement celebration in December was perfect! After completing a beautiful snowman/greenery craft with students, the Garden Ladies were asked to go outside to the walking track. It was cold, but the ceremony warmed our hearts. Christina was completely surprised and delighted by her gifts. The plaque read:

With sincere gratitude to Christina Williamson

For your volunteerism with “The Garden Ladies” for 11 years

Our students and staff

are forever grateful.
