Latham staffers raise funds for Special Olympics athletes in Jolly Jaunt 5K
December 11, 2017
Latham Centers’ Jolly Jaunt Team of 12 elves helped raise over $31,000 for local Special Olympics athletes at last week’s Holiday 5K in Hyannis. Congratulations to our staff members who spent their day off on Sunday, December 3rd supporting Special Olympians through the Jolly Jaunt. Great job, Jenna Losordo, Emily Hallock, Jessica Gremila, Monique Williams, Frannie Quirk, Kara McDowell, Melissa Hyer, Kalyn Mika, Krystal Ketler, and Brittni Taylor! Latham’s team finished 6th, raising $945. Director of Education Brittni Taylor said the event was fantastic—Latham staff members had a wonderful time supporting a wonderful cause.
Another opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes is coming up this Thursday, December 14th, at the Tip-A-Cop fundraising event. The Law Enforcement Torch Run and local police departments will present Tip-A-Cop at five British Beer Company locations including Falmouth, Hyannis, and Sandwich (and off-Cape at Westford and Worcester). Law enforcement officers will serve as celebrity hosts and servers, donating all “tips” to Special Olympics Massachusetts.
