Admin. Assistant to Director of Children’s Services

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love working as a team to meet the individual needs of our students. Each one has different needs, which often means different solutions. It never gets boring to watch a very dedicated staff work together to put in place what will benefit each student best. It’s all about the students!!
What do you love about working with individuals with PWS or other complex special needs?
It’s what I love about children in general! They are who they are, no hidden agendas, no filters. It’s refreshing to see things from their perspectives. No two days are the same. Specifically with PWS and other special needs, it always amazes me when I think back to when they first arrived at Latham to present time and see great changes and growth in their lives!!
Has this job taught you anything about yourself?
When you love what you do, it isn’t a job.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working at Latham?
I love the time I spend with my grandchildren most!  Apart from that I’m still unpacking and settling in, making new friends and keeping in touch w/ some old and very special friends.
What advice would you give to someone contemplating a career at Latham Centers?
Never look at it as a paycheck but rather a great opportunity to be a positive part in shaping a group of young people to function more independently, grow, and, in some cases, heal.
