Latham Players Take the Stage!
June 9, 2015
The Latham Players is a group of individuals from our adult program who perform skits, dances, and songs at various venues around Cape Cod. Last year they were invited to perform with troupes from other agencies in a variety show sponsored by an organization called CapeCodCan, a nonprofit group whose mission is to give individuals with disabilities the opportunity to be on stage and perform.
On May 16th, 17th and 18th, the players again were invited to join this group and performed their interpretation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. The show was a smash hit, being sold out for each of the performances. The “Players” performed beautifully and were very proud of this accomplishment.
It was a hectic, grueling schedule that week, with rehearsal held three of the nights and then the shows over the weekend. Their hard work paid off as they received a standing ovation after each performance!! They plan on participating again next year, along with fulfilling their other obligations throughout the year.
