Latham Hawks support Cape Cod Law Enforcement in Torch Run: Proceeds Donated to Special Olympics
June 1, 2022
The Cape Cod Law Enforcement Torch Run is a moving and uplifting annual event that runs past our school campus on Route 6A in Brewster. On May 25th, Latham students participated in the Torch Run by helping out at a water station and cheering on our local law enforcement.
Running with a “Flame of Hope,” law enforcement ran from Provincetown to Sagamore to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Massachusetts. Katrina Kozak, Director of National Outreach, reflected on the importance of Special Olympics within our Latham community. “I just recently took a walk with a student on the Latham Hawks Track and Field team while he was preparing for the Special Olympics MA tournament. He was excited about the opportunity, which was most apparent while telling me about how awesome he was at javelin. It was amazing to his confidence and sheer joy!”
Thank you, Cape Cod law enforcement, for keeping our community safe, and supporting Special Olympics!
