Latham Centers’ wish for Giving Tuesday

Thanks to the combined generosity of over 675 Latham Centers family members, friends, staff, Board, local businesses and foundations, we have raised over $1.3 million for the creation of the new Latham Community Center! This multi-use facility on Main Street in Brewster will have a dramatic and lasting impact on the children and adults at Latham Centers. This community resource will enrich the Brewster and greater Cape Cod community. In addition to providing opportunities for integration and collaboration, it will meet the need for growth of service to Latham students and adult residents, and it will beautify and revitalize the area.

This has been our most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, but we are excited and encouraged by the community’s commitment to its success. In fact, a local family who was introduced to Latham Centers just three years ago by a dear friend and former Board member generously offered a $250,000 Challenge Match Gift to help us reach our goal! In the words of Latham President Anne McManus, “I cannot tell you how much it means to all of us at Latham to know that this wonderful family was so inspired by the work that we do. They have chosen to invest in our agency because they can see firsthand how their gift will have a lasting, meaningful impact on the children and adults we serve.”

The challenge: Raise $250,000 in 18 months with the promise that if we succeed, they will match the funds with an additional $250,000 gift! The response has been incredible, but we still have $70,000 to raise to complete the match.

On this #Giving Tuesday, we hope that if you have not yet pledged your support to the Expanding our Circle Capital Campaign for the new Latham Community Center, you will make a gift now. If you have donated in the past, thank you — we hope that you will consider making an additional gift to help us meet our goal. All of us at Latham Centers are deeply grateful to those of you who have embraced this vision and partnered with us to make this dream come true.
