Latham celebrates with CCCF at Night of Gratitude event

Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers’ (CCCF) Night of Gratitude celebration dinner was held last month at The Riverway restaurant in Yarmouth. CCCF is a non-profit organization that creates, organizes, and executes special events for the benefit of other 501c3 non-profits. Each year, CCCF beneficiary charities and top Last Gasp individual fundraisers are recognized at the Night of Gratitude dinner.

For 27 years, participants in The Last Gasp have biked the 62 miles from Sandwich to Provincetown to raise funds for the beneficiary charity of their choice. This was Latham Centers’ third year participating as a beneficiary charity. Board Chair Christine Gillstrom Burgess was among the top fundraisers this year, raising over $4,000. Her husband Mark Burgess has participated in the race for 26 years and he also raised nearly $4,000. Heather Kelsey, Director of Development, raised over $1,500 and was among the “Big Wheel” fundraisers (those raising over $1,200 for their beneficiary charity) recognized at the event.

A check to Latham Centers for $21,296.68 was presented by CCCF Event Coordinator Kasey Boyle to Chris Gillstrom Burgess, Latham Board Chair; Mark Burgess; Anne McManus, Latham President and CEO; and Heather Kelsey, Latham Director of Development. The check includes funds raised at The Last Gasp as well as CCCF’s Roll the Rock bowling tournament in April of 2018. The $21K will support our capital campaign for the new Latham Community Center.

Thank you to all the Latham riders, donors and sponsors for making this year’s Last Gasp such a success! Save the date! The 2019 Last Gasp Bike, Boat and Bake will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019. We hope to double our team of riders in 2019!
