Latham attends “Talking Tech” conference presented by ADDP & DDS

Several Latham Centers staff members participated in “Talking Tech 2019”, a conference co-sponsored by the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP) and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The full-day of technology-related sessions was held at the Boston Marriott Newton on Thursday, October 17th.  Together, we celebrated the promise of technology for empowerment and social inclusion of individuals with disabilities. The event featured experts in varied technologies — including:

  • Assistive Technology — software and electronic devices to enhance the lives of individuals with I/DD; assistive devices and instruments to aid in activities of daily living (ADL).

  • Electronic Health Records (EHRs) – review of available high-quality electronic health records solutions and EHR implementation.

  • Remote Monitoring – review of national trends in remote monitoring.

  • Software solutions for providers – software applications designed to improve provider efficiency and effectiveness while also enhancing the quality of services for individuals served.

  • Telehealth – review of available telehealth services, including case studies by providers using telehealth systems.

  • Cycbersecurity, smart tech, and much more.

We’d like to extend our thanks to ADDP and DDS for bringing providers together with technology experts, and to our colleagues from ADDP member organizations statewide who helped plan this opportunity for providers to connect with and learn from one another.
