Katrina Fryklund, Director of Development, Inducted into CCYP Board of Directors

November 10th marked an important day for Katrina Fryklund, Director of Development at Latham Centers. Katrina has been a member of Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) for the past there years. CCYP is one of Cape Cod largest networking groups whose mission is to “connect Cape Cod’s emerging leaders, engage them in the community, and support their efforts to advance personally and professionally.”
Katrina begins her three year term in January 2017, however will be attending Board Meetings starting in December. She looks forward to participating in regular events with the CCYP Board as well as the member base of over 1,000 Cape Codders. Moreover, she identifies with CCYP’s mission to connect, engage and advance young professionals on Cape Cod while remaining focused on the thriving non-profit community.
Katrina thanks Latham Centers for the opportunity to get involved in the community in such a way, and lists the below as her biography.
“Having grown up on Cape Cod, Katrina Fryklund never thought that she would settle back home, however is pleased with her decision to return and pursue her professional career in development.
Starting at Latham Centers in 2013 as a Development Associate, she is now the Director of the Development at the non-profit. Latham Centers is a residential program for students and adults with complex special needs located in Brewster, MA. Latham Centers also provides educational, clinical and vocational services. At Latham Centers Katrina participates in event planning, community outreach, marketing, and grant writing.
Since the winter of 2014 Katrina has been involved with CCYP, first serving as Secretary and now Co-Chair of the Career Connect Committee. After losing a close friend, she initiated the Live for Lou Fund, a go-thru organization helping to fight the local drug epidemic on Cape Cod and the Islands. In addition to providing scholarships to local athletes, Live for Lou also provides scholarships to professionals returning to Cape to pursue a career in the field of Addiction Therapy and Counseling. She serves as Co-Chair of the fund.
Katrina graduated from Clark University in 2013 with a Master’s of Science in Professional Communication, and worked at Girls Inc. during her college tenure. There, she volunteered, interned, and worked on after-school program implementation for girls in the Worcester area with a spectrum of different needs, as well as their marketing and development programs. 
Katrina currently lives in Orleans, and plans to remain on Cape Cod for the foreseeable future where her family has also settled. Other interests include travel, and taking advantage of Cape’s beautiful beaches and walking trails. To contact Katrina, please email kfryklund@lathamcenters.org.”
