June Events on Campus

June is a fun-filled time on campus. As the weather slowly starts to heat up, students start anticipating Summertide, outside games on the field, and exploring Cape Cod’s bays.

Yesterday you may have seen a blog post about the Art Festival and Spring Concert on Friday, June 2nd. It was enjoyed by students and staff alike. As the month progresses, it seems that each week includes a fun activity. Spirit Week began yesterday, June 5th, and students wore their pajamas to class! Today students are giggling because it’s “tacky tourist day,” while Wednesday and Thursday consist of Character Day, and Clothes Swap Day. Finally, the week ends with Superhero Day, when Monique Williams, Physical Education Instructor, hosts Latham’s Field Day Games.

Tomorrow students will participate in their monthly Community Meeting, when they have an opportunity to voice their suggestions for ways to improve life on campus. Monday, June 12th, marks Prom – a favorite day on campus. Michael Bellich and other representatives from Puritan Cape Cod will adorn the boys in tuxes in the morning, while staff help the girls prepare with a bit of make-up, and beautiful pre-selected prom dresses. A huge thank you to the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod for underwriting the cost of the tuxes. Finally, June 23rd and the annual Year-End Celebration represents the last day of the 2016-2017 school year. Students will take a week’s vacation and then return to campus, when the summer-fun and outdoor-learning truly begins.

Stay tuned for recaps on all of June’s fun events!
