Ithaca College Graduate Lands Development Internship at Latham Centers

Gabby Gelbien fell in love with Latham’s mission and accepted a Development Associate internship position focused on the upcoming Charity Golf Classic. “I am a recent graduate of Ithaca College, and I joined Latham Centers because I was looking for a way to apply my communication skills in a positive way. I love how each day the staff at Latham Centers are doing work that will directly contribute to the success of its residents, and help them to live their best lives,” she said.
In preparation for the 8th Annual Golf Classic, Gabby is busy marketing and fundraising for the tournament by requesting in-kind gifts and sponsorships through in-person visits, email correspondence, and phone calls. She said the excitement of working with the community and spreading Latham’s mission to those who may not be familiar with what we do has been a great experience. “The support I have been receiving from local businesses has been tremendous. I look forward to building upon these relationships.”
When Gabby’s internship ends, she plans to move to Boston and “start a career in the non-profit sector where I can continue using the skills I learned here to improve the lives of others.”
