Honoring our Nursing Teams (Part 2)

Last month, we celebrated National Nurses Week. The annual celebration concludes on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is known around the world as the founder of modern nursing. It is fitting that we honor those who have followed her and dedicated their lives to caring for others. We shared highlights from a May celebration honoring Adult Services Nurse Manager Shanna Cipro, RN, earlier this week.

Today’s shout-out is for all of our nursing staff! Shanna is one of several Nursing Team members from our Children’s and Adult Services Programs who dedicates her life to caring for others. From Med Assistants to RNs, they all make an indelible impact on the lives of Latham students and individuals every day. Our nursing staff members have a unique opportunity in the healthcare field. As part of our highly regarded nursing team, they develop expertise in Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic disease with no known cure. One Latham nurse noted, “I was looking for a career that would give me a reason as to why I became a nurse, and then I found Latham Centers. There are so many rewards working with our program participants and staff, and I have grown professionally.”

Latham’s health services opportunities continue to expand! We’re currently hiring RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, and CNAs at locations from Plymouth to Brewster!
