Generosity & Kindness Part 3: Huge thanks to Latham families and friends!

We would like to take this time to thank our Latham parents, guardians, and friends for their incredibly generous donations for the students and adults at Latham Centers. In March, parents and guardians asked the staff, “How can we help?!”  Our staff then collaborated to create a growing Amazon Wish List of items that can be used in the suites, independently, or in groups. There are still some items on the wish list (which can be found here), but the massive number of items that have been purchased and sent to our school campus and group residences has been uplifting and encouraging!

As you can see from this photo collage, the smiles are contagious and abundant!  Our students, adult residents, and entire staff extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all for your gifts and support – you have truly brightened our days!  Pictured: Latham students have fun with our new ball bounce game and (outdoors) with our new ladder toss game. “This game is a huge hit! We had so much fun playing it this morning.” – photos/quote by Children’s Program Residential Supervisor Neomie Laughren. Also pictured: Colorful expressions of thanks created by students.

This “Generosity and Kindness” blog is part of a series of posts leading up to #GivingTuesayNow, a global day of giving and unity on May 5th in response to the COVID-19 crisis. On Monday, we’ll highlight the generosity and kindness of a local photographer, pilot, and arts educator.
