Gearing up for our Annual Craft Fair: student talents aglow

The Annual LathamWorks Craft Fair is always exciting for our staff, students, families, and network of supporters. The students work hard in their weekly programming to create crafts that folks have brought into their annual Christmas traditions. Katrina Kozak, our Director of National Outreach, said that some of her favorite holiday decorations have come from the Craft Fair. “I have a wreath that I can put on my door throughout the entire spring season, ornaments for my Christmas tree, and wall decorations that I put above my windows!”

Our Children’s Program Career Services Manager Laura Heilmann e-mailed staff to announce that students will be making crafts through December 16,th and the “Craft Catalogue” will be sent to them on Friday, December 17th. “Due to limited quantity, all items are first come, first serve,” she reminded staff. Examples include jewelry, holiday ornaments, pillows, floor mats, decorations, and artwork. In LathamWorks, students learn how to create items (including repurposing and upcycling), package items, sell/invoice items, and facilitate item pick-ups. We’re all looking forward to seeing photos of their handcrafted specialties!
