This two-part blog series about a special event attended by our students and adult residents begins with the heartwarming reflections of Latham resident Warren Lueders:
On Friday, February 8th, Latham adult clients along with students from the Children’s Program attended the “Night to Shine” Prom event put on by Tim Tebow’s foundation. We were treated with a semi-formal dinner and were able to interact with Latham clients but also individuals in the community for a night of dancing fun and music. Special thanks go out to Tim Tebow for donating prom dresses to the adult residents and students at Latham. If desired, both guys and girls were adorned with corsages and boutonnieres and crowns to boot. Any attendee of the prom was given a dance partner “buddy” so they didn’t feel alone on the dance floor. The Tim Tebow Foundation managed to make every guy and girl at the prom feel like a prom king or queen. There was a royal limo service provided from dinner to the front door of the prom. Each prom attendee was capped with a tiara or crown. Students and adult clients enjoyed walking down the red carpet, professional photos, and a night of dancing and jiving. Tim Tebow, we will be seeing you next year!!!
