Freedom Stories: One of Latham School’s Black History Month activities

We’re so happy to share these fantastic photos from one of last week’s Black History Month activities on campus – including students’ new Latham Freedom Quilt!

Monique Williams (Director of Health and Wellness) and Danny Anderson (Residential Activities Coordinator) led the Black History Month activity with the students, following along with the theme of Freedom Stories. They presented a brief PowerPoint lesson reviewing Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad and what they learned.  They then finished off the activity discussing Freedom Quilts and what they symbolized along the Underground Railroad. They even created their own patterns to go on a Latham Freedom Quilt.

Thank you to our Children’s Program team for sharing the amazing work of our students!
