DDS Citizen Advisory Board honors two of Latham’s donkey caregivers

Latham’s miniature donkey caregiver Kristiane Thompson and adult resident Tina C. were recently honored for their dedication to caring for the animals in Latham’s asinotherapy program. The Cape Cod and Islands DDS Citizen Advisory Board recognized Kris and Tina at a Recognition Breakfast on April 20th.

Kris has worked as the primary caregiver in our asinotherapy program for nearly eight years. During that time, she has worked closely with Tina. Because of Kris’s dedication, Tina has developed a bond not only with Kris, but also with the miniature donkeys she adores – including Angus, Moonbeam, Jake, Curly, Esther, and Esau. Under the guidance of Kris, Tina has become an expert in the program and can identify the needs of the donkeys almost as well as Kris. Kris’s work with Tina has helped to develop her already-strong work ethic and ability to care for the donkeys. They are one of the many examples of how the hard work and dedication to the individuals in our program results in long-lasting and meaningful relationships.

Congratulations on this outstanding recognition, Kris and Tina!
