Maura Smith, Director of Vocational Services, works closely with four Crafters who participate in our Adult Residential Program. In the past, you have read about fine works of art created by Janice, Angel, Sylvia and Michelle. Over the course of 2017, our Circle of Crafting Artisans will participate in six different Craft Fairs. Don’t forget to put them on your calendar!
Janice and Angel knit every day creating scarves of different lengths that are perfect for winters on Cape Cod. Sylvia and Michelle focus instead on Jewelry, and up-cycling, or the repurposing of items to make new and create works of art.
Each artisan benefits in a myriad of ways, including but not limited to: consistent personal income, fiscal management and money counting, socialization and fine-motor-skill development.
