Board of Directors announces Latham’s next President and CEO

We’re thrilled to share the news that Latham Centers’ Board has named our next great leader, and it’s a native Cape Codder whose career at Latham will span from Special Education Teacher to Chief Executive Officer!

Gerald Pouliot III was chosen by the Latham Centers Board of Directors’ Executive Transition Committee as the next President and CEO of our non-profit organization. Latham is one of the largest human services agencies in the region, and the only residential program in the U.S. serving both children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome. Our visionary leader, Anne McManus, will retire in June after more than two decades at the helm.

Gerry was chosen to become Latham’s next top executive after an exhaustive process, Board Chair Dr. Christine Thomas announced. The committee selected Latham’s Director of Children’s Services because of his extensive knowledge of the organization and its culture, his leadership, and his vision. “Gerry is very impressive – and a great fit for this role,” Dr. Thomas added.

Gerry has risen through the ranks at our renowned special education school and therapeutic treatment program for individuals with complex special needs. He grew up in Yarmouth, graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School and Fitchburg State University, and began his Latham career in 2010 as a Special Education Teacher. He earned several promotions, completed a Master’s Degree in Education at Bridgewater State University, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors at the Massachusetts Association of Approved Special Education Schools (MAAPS, Latham School’s trade association).

Gerry said he is thrilled and honored to become Latham’s next CEO. “I’m incredibly grateful to my colleagues at Latham, and to Anne McManus for 24 years of truly inspiring leadership. I look forward to carrying the torch for the next 24 years.”

Anne is delighted with the Board’s choice. “Gerry’s professionalism, his dedication and commitment to the children at Latham School, and his dedication to the entire Latham community is unparalleled,” Anne said. “He will do a wonderful job!”

Gerry will work alongside Anne as Executive Vice President over the next 7 months, succeeding her as President and CEO in June 2023. This exciting leadership news was announced to our students, residents, staff, and families over the past two weeks. We’re happy to share the video announcement featuring messages from Dr. Thomas, Gerry, and Anne. Congratulations to Gerry from all of us at Latham Centers!
