Resident & Student Perspectives: “What does freedom mean to you?”

Latham Centers’ Juneteenth Committee is honored to create new and important traditions in our community. In recent blog posts, we have shared the Juneteenth Celebration Plan, an invitation to attend on June 21st, Patrice Carroll’s Tip on how to have difficult conversations about Juneteenth with your child, and Juneteenth facts.

Following the committee’s work explaining the significance of Juneteenth, along with many teachers and staff forming lesson plans around the impactful day, Monique Williams and Katrina Fryklund (Juneteenth Committee Members) posed the question, “What does Freedom mean to you?”  We are happy to share some of the outstanding works of art created by our students, and a poem entitled “Every human matters” by an individual in our Adult Program.

We cherish these contributions, and we thank you for listening!
