Tip of the week: Water Safety

As much as our kids love to swim, it’s important to practice high levels of supervision around the water. Swimming is one of the best exercises for people with Prader-Willi syndrome but low muscle tone and the fact that they easily fatigue means caregivers must be on high alert any time a person with PWS is in the water.

Patrice Carroll is Latham Centers’ world-renowned Prader-Willi syndrome specialist. She works with Latham’s residents with PWS, their families, and consultants, continuously learning and teaching about PWS best practices. Do you have questions for our PWS specialist? Submit your “tip” topics or general questions to TipTopics@LathamCenters.org.
