Tip of the Week: Latham’s Virtual PWS Community Book Club

As we approach the one-year mark of Latham Centers’ Virtual Storytime, our team has marveled at the successes. More than 30 individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome between the ages of 8 and 22 have joined us each week to catch up with one another, discuss the good parts of their day and the bad, and read a short novel through the Epic! reading portal.

During a recent Storytime, we discussed favorite types of books and everyone agreed that they love mysteries. That sparked a new idea: a Wednesday Evening Book Club from 6:00 to 6:30 pm EST. Our Wednesday Book Group will begin on March 31st, and each week we will read a chapter together from a novel on the Epic! reading portal. Everyone who would like to read a few paragraphs will have the opportunity to participate. Until 6:30, we will discuss the chapter and contemplate what will happen next. As always, we will finish at 6:30 with a mindfulness dance song.

We invite you to join our Virtual PWS Community in this new Virtual Book Club opportunity! For more information, contact Ashley Pouliot, Admissions Assistant, ashleypouliot@LathamCenters.org.
