Critically important at Latham Centers is the health of our residents. First, you may think of the obvious – staying physically active and eating healthy foods. Dental health, however, is something that many residents struggle with due to limited motor skills!
As part of the CHNA Health and Wellness Grant, Cape Tech’s Dental Assisting Instructor Brenda Stafford and a crew of four students presented to Latham Centers’ Adult residents about general dental health.
They presented each resident with a toothbrush, floss and toothpaste and explained the benefits of brushing and flossing, but also taught great new techniques! They even showed them how much plaque was left on their teeth from that mornings brushing.
