Adult Services continues to expand Supported Community Living opportunities

Creating opportunities for independence, part of our agency’s mission, happens every day in our Shared Living Program. “Caring for our individuals is more than just helping people with their daily activities. It’s assisting in cultivating life skills and fostering independence,” Caren Richards noted.

Caren is Latham Centers’ Assistant Supported Community Living Manager, and she has been instrumental in growing the program. “Shared Living Providers make such a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals, couples, and families we contract with all talk about how fulfilling it is to provide this service. They share their home, teach skills, and enhance someone else’s life.”
