Tips From The Nursing Department
October 29, 2009
If you or someone you take care of takes medicines here are some helpful hints to make it easier and safer.
- Separate medications into categories as much as possible.
- Keep all regularly scheduled medications together. Additionally separate them by the time they are taken. Keep all other medications that you take on as needed basis separately.
- Plastic weekly medication containers that you load once a week are helpful –when buying get separate colors to color code for different times of day. Load the containers when it is quiet and you can concentrate on one thing.
Taking your medications as prescribed is the one of the major problems doctors report. These tips should help you to be safe and get the maximum benefit from your medications.
