Thanksgiving at Latham Centers: A Healthy Feast Fit for Kings

Traditionally, Thanksgiving marks a time to indulge in (not always healthy) food, celebrate with family and friends, and give thanks. Latham Centers twists traditions by cooking two healthy meals, celebrating with the Latham residents and staff, and giving thanks for all with which we are blessed.
In the Children’s Program Chef Paul makes a delicious meal for the children and staff who are celebrating on Latham campus. He cooks a full Turkey with dressing, cranberry sauce, and all the sides we’re accustomed to. To stay healthy he makes sweet potato mashers with caramelized onions instead of mashed potatoes! Staff and students eat on fine white linens and china to celebrate the occasion.
The Adult Program reins in Thanksgiving with a Pot Luck. Eleven residents and their accompanying staffers gather at the Great Hill residence and each bring part of the meal. This is a favorite holiday because all the items are healthy and delicious, and residents mingle with friends.
From the students and adults celebrating this holiday on Cape Cod with all of you, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
