Martin Luther King: A Pioneer

January 16, 2017

Martin Luther King Jr. will be known for eternity as one of the most active Civil Rights Leaders in United States history. Annually, students from across the country learn about MLK Jr., and the residents at Latham Centers are no exception. Initially I was going to write a simple post with one MLK Jr. quote, however, I couldn’t help but think how relevant so many of his quotes are to our community of individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and other complex special needs. They fight every day to be recognized for their strengths rather than weaknesses; to be seen as leaders in their community rather than innocent bystanders; and to fight every day for equality in the work force.
