After much excitement on campus about National PWS Month and Brewster in Bloom, students and staff at Latham Centers had a fun and busy weekend. Saturday launched with a successful craft fair with two staffers, Rachel Dewees and Gina Sheehan, twisting balloon animals and balloon flowers for the kids at Kids Fest at Drummer Boy Park. Saturday night Siobhan Magnus performed at Guapo’s in Orleans where the crowd gathered in anticipation of her second Cinco de Mayo fundraiser for Latham Centers. More info to come about Saturday!
Please see the above photos of the students and staff from Latham Centers campus preparing for the big weekend and in the parade on Sunday. This year’s theme was “Honey Bee Good!”, a play on words ultimately recognizing the importance of Honey Bees! Students and staff constructed a dark-orange, wooden, National PWS Ribbon, hand crafted items for the fair on Saturday, and rode in the AMAZING float constructed by Kara McDowell and Brittni Taylor.
The smiles on the faces of the kids say it all: “HAPPY PWS MONTH and HAPPY BREWSTER IN BLOOM!”
